Wendi, This Is For You

In Sunday's Commercial Appeal, columnist Wendi Thomas wonders at the lack of photos of coffins returning from war, as compared to previous wars. She blames the Pentagon.

Me, I blame a lack of intrepid photographers, and the editors & publishers willing to motivate and support them in the quest. The pictures are there, if they are willing to go after them. In fact, during the Kosovo war, there were photos of American caskets returning to America through Greece that never ran in American papers. (Sorry, couldn't find the link anymore.) Greek papers ran them, though. I guess it was different then....
